1. How does Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace from Rockers compare to Ivan Martin from The Harder They Come?
Well, I think that Ivan Martin was a criminal and an anti-hero and Horsemouth was a hero and very similar to Robyn Hood (stealing from the rich to give to the poor). I think it's interesting to do the contrast of the music business between the two films. On one hand, in both films we saw the corruption and the mafia behind the music industry and on the other, we see how Ivan and Horsemouth deal with this in very different ways; Ivan becomes part of the ganja trade and Horsemouth organizes his friends to steal from the mafia and distribute the items among the poor community. Having said that, I find Horsemouth a lot more admirable than Ivan.
2. What is your favorite scene from the film? Why?
My favorite scene is when Horsemouth and his gang steal from the mob boss's house. I think it is genius and beautifully filmed. You can really feel the justice being done. I like how they stole stuff that is of everyday use (like the washing machine) to give to members of the working class in Kingston.
3. Did you like/dislike the film? Why/Why Not?
I like this film because it has a beautiful story of how a record delivery man ends up stealing from the mafia that controls the music industry. I think the story is very applicable to today lol. Also, it is important to mention that this is the second most important Jamaican film. I also want to say that even though Theodoros Bafaloukos isn't Jamaican (he's actually Greek) I think that he made a respectful film about Jamaica and didn't use stereotypes for storytelling. I should mention that the film was originally intended to be a documentary, but ending being a motion picture.

Yeah, the scenes of the rob are really funny. At least, It's make me wanna join them.
ResponderBorrarI agree with you, Horsemouth is a loooooooot more admirable than Ivan hahaha xD
ResponderBorrarThe robbery scene was great, I thought the mafia were going to caught them tho hahaha

ResponderBorrarI also liked the robbery scene, it was amazing and it was for a good cause.
ResponderBorrarI had no idea Theodoros was Greek. Good info. I should have guessed he was from another country. I suppose I never questioned it.
ResponderBorrarI prefer Horsemouth too!
ResponderBorrarI also like this movie!
ResponderBorrarIt was a funny movie, but a good one. Horsemouth was a well portraited character.
